Stefan Lutschinger, Malevich – A Suprematist Board Game (2014)

Stefan Lutschinger, Malevich – A Suprematist Board Game. Vienna: Proll Positions, Edition Fuck Reality 2014

For Marina Koldobskaya

This book contains the layout, rules and game mechanics for Malevich, a Suprematist board game, which allows its players to re-fight the confrontation between the Suprematists led by Kazimir Malevich and their enemies. Malevich is a game for between 2 to 8 players who are divided into two rival teams of revolutionary artists and guardians of reaction. Destroy plaster sculptures, close museums, burn bourgeois art, keep the ashes for research and teach all workers and peasants to paint pictures in accordance with the Suprematist method!

Stefan Lutschinger is a philosopher, curator, lecturer and conceptual artist based in London and Saint Petersburg. His ludic sculptures are influenced by Leonid Sokov and Leonid Stolovich’s Esthectics, Art, Play, a founding text of the Tartu Semiotics School. He is a member of Class Wargames and Грязная Галерея (“Dirty Gallery”) in Saint Petersburg. In 2008, he was artist-in-residence at Cyland Media Lab, National Center for Contemporary Arts. He teaches at Middlesex University London and Saint Petersburg State University.
